Groom Em Up reserves the right to refuse grooming services to any dog for any reason. This may include, but is not limited to, aggressive behaviour, health concerns, or if the dog's coat is excessively matted and poses a risk to the dog's well-being during grooming. We are unable to groom dogs that are pregnant. If your dog is in season we kindly ask you to let us know. Due to the sensitivity of the hygiene area the groom may not be up to the usual standard.
At Groom Em Up, we strive to provide high-quality grooming services and ensure customer satisfaction. We value your feedback and aim to address any concerns you may have about your dog's groom. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with the outcome of the grooming session, we kindly request that you let us know when collecting your dog from the salon. Your feedback allows us to understand your preferences and concerns, and we are committed to rectifying any issues to the best of our ability. We want you and your dog to have a positive grooming experience, and we will make every effort to meet your expectations. Please bear in mind that certain factors, such as matting, coat condition, and your dog's behaviour, can impact the final result of the groom. Severely matted coats may require extensive grooming, and the condition of the coat can affect the overall appearance. Additionally, some dogs may have specific behavioural traits that can influence the grooming process. We will communicate openly and honestly about the expected results based on your dog's specific needs and characteristics. By working together and maintaining open communication, we aim to provide the best grooming experience for your dog and ensure your satisfaction with the services provided at Groom Em Up.
Not all dogs love the groomers or other dogs, please make us aware of any behavioural issues your dog might have so we can tailor your dog's appointment to suit them. We will never put a staff member in danger at Groom Em Up and we can only do what your dog allows us to do. Regular visits can help ease your dog into the salon environment and gain trust with the groomer. Groom Em Up reserves the right to refuse to continue with the groom should your dog show aggressive behaviour. This is for your dog's safety as well as Groom Em Up staff. We will contact you to collect your dog and payment for the time spent will be required upon collection.
To ensure the comfort and safety of your dog during the grooming process, we kindly request that you do not feed your dog within one hour before the scheduled grooming appointment. This helps prevent any potential digestive issues or discomfort during the grooming session.
For the comfort of your dog, we recommend that you ensure they have relieved themselves (poo and wee) before bringing them in for grooming. This helps minimize any anxiety or discomfort your dog may experience during the grooming process. A good walk beforehand can also help expend excess energy, making the grooming process smoother.
We recommend waiting until at least two weeks after your puppy's second round of vaccinations before booking a grooming appointment. This ensures your puppy's health and safety during their grooming experience. Introducing your puppy to grooming early on helps them become comfortable with the process, reducing anxiety and making future grooming sessions much easier. Early grooming familiarises puppies with being handled, the sounds and sensations of grooming tools, and the overall environment, setting them up for a positive grooming journey throughout their life.
If your dog has any known allergies to grooming products, it is essential to inform Groom Em Up beforehand. We strive to provide a safe and comfortable grooming experience for all pets. However, we cannot be held liable for any allergic reactions that may occur due to grooming products used during the session.
To ensure the safety of your pet, please inform us of any known allergies during the booking process or before the grooming session begins. If your dog has specific product sensitivities or allergies, we will make every effort to accommodate their needs. We may request that you provide your preferred grooming products in such cases, subject to our approval.
By informing Groom Em Up of any known allergies, you help us take appropriate precautions to minimize the risk of allergic reactions during the grooming process. We value the well-being of your pet and appreciate your cooperation in providing necessary allergy information.
At Groom Em Up, we prioritise the well-being and comfort of every dog in our care. Committed to ethical and humane grooming practices, we adhere to the Animal Welfare Act 2006, ensuring no undue suffering is inflicted. We will not perform any grooming services that cause pain, discomfort, or excessive stress to your dog. Our grooming techniques are gentle, respectful, and considerate of your pet's needs, always aiming to provide a positive experience.
In cases where we notice any health concerns or issues during the grooming process, we may recommend seeking advice from a qualified veterinarian. Your dog's health and safety are of paramount importance to us, and we want to ensure that any potential health issues are addressed promptly and appropriately.
If we observe any unusual symptoms, skin conditions, or behavioural signs during grooming, we will inform you and advise you to consult with your veterinarian for a thorough examination and appropriate treatment.
By adhering to these principles, we aim to create a positive and comfortable grooming experience for your beloved pet, ensuring their overall well-being and happiness throughout the grooming session. Groom Em Up reserve the right to refuse to groom your dog unless it has been signed off by a vet should there be a medical issue that needs addressing.
Groom Em Up understands that home grooming can sometimes get out of hand, resulting in matting. We're not here to shame anyone but to ensure your dog is as comfortable as possible. Matted coats can cause serious skin and health issues for pets. Lack of air circulation leads to hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections, and can harbour parasites like fleas and ticks. Matts pull on the skin, causing pain and inflammation, and can result in rotting fur and skin due to improper drying. Severely matted dogs may need to be shaved very short, exposing skin irritations and sores. For matted dogs, shaving is often the most humane option. While we attempt to de-mat when feasible, it must not cause excessive pain or your dog doesn't tolerate the de-matting process. Clipping close to the skin can result in nicks and cuts, despite our careful efforts. Multiple grooming sessions might be necessary for severely matted dogs. Groom Em Up will inform you in advance should we think your dog requires shaving down.
